Whether refunds are full or partial, when we process them, our system automatically expires memberships and licenses in PayPal and Stripe. The good news is that all Showthemes subscriptions are handled in Woo Commerce and will not be expired.

Select WooCommerce > Orders and search for the email address and click on the latest purchase. Example - https://www.screencast.com/t/urf4enUVf4 - select the Refund button https://www.screencast.com/t/znbOkYf4uk.

Input the exact amount of the partial payment and under Reason for refund input, for example, Partial refund to accommodate 20% discount code (or another reason if there is one) then select Refund via Stripe https://www.screencast.com/t/Jn4cmNPy. If they paid by PayPal, select Refund via PayPal Checkout.

Respond to the ticket with this canned response under Refund Request Responses > Refund ISSUED (only used AFTER the refund has been performed) and tweak the wording to ‘partial’ refund and ‘We wish you much success’ to Best wishes.

Double check the tags in the ticket to ensure they are classified as Partial refunds.

Mark the ticket Resolved.

If it is a duplicate payment, double-check the user’s information to ensure that they only have one subscription. Unfortunately, we cannot change the amount of the subscription. In Woo Commerce, it is locked in. We will have to partially refund their subscription every year until it is canceled.
