Note: Mihai wrote this solution article in 2017 (so not sure if it is still relevant).
{1. Please check if the browser's console returns: Uncaught TypeError: $template.get is not a function}
We have found that you are using a critical outdated theme and Visual Composer versions.
Since you cannot use the auto-update feature, in order to update Visual Composer plugin you will need to:
1) Access `Dashboard -> Plugins` and deactivate/remove Visual Composer plugin;
2) Go to `Dashboard -> {theme_name}` and click on `check for updates` button then follow the `Updates` page: https://drive.google.com/a/teslathemes.com/file/d/0B-OaWUxuHvUOWElYbW9WOEZJYlU/view?usp=drivesdk
3) Once there, please choose to update the {theme_name} theme;
4) After the update, you should get a Dashboard notification about `the required plugins installation` Please install and update Visual Composer using the installer wizard;
